5 soldiers hurt in landmine blast


FIVE SOLDIERS were wounded when the truck they were riding hit a landmine along the President Roxas-Arakan road on Sunday.

Lieutenant Andolong Durado, civil military operations chief of the 57th Infantry Battalion, said communist rebels might have planted the improvised antipersonnel mine.
Dorado said the wounded soldiers, whom he refused to identify, were brought to the Eastern Mindanao Command Hospital in Davao City.
