Civilian hurt in mine blast, HM terrorist held in J&K

A civilian was injured in a mine blast near the international border in Kathua district while security forces arrested a Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir during the last 24 hours, official sources said on Tuesday.


A landmine exploded near the international border in Hirranagar tehsil of Kathua district, injuring Sardar Singh, the sources said, adding that Singh was later shifted to the Army hospital in Samba.

His condition is stated to be stable after surgery, they said.

Reports from Doda district said security forces, during a joint operation with police at Machgadi in Chatroo area, apprehended a terrorist of HM outfit and recovered two hand grenades from his possession.

The forces also busted a terrorist hideout at upper Manjyari-Harni area of Poonch district on October 7 and recovered five revolvers, the sources said.
