Claymore mine survivor dies today (Sri Lanka)

A soldier who survived a LTTE landmine attack in Jaffna yesterday succumbed to his injuries today in Colombo.


With this latest death, the total number killed in yesterday's attack increases to eight. The soldier was critically injured by a powerful claymore mine, allegedly planted by the LTTE along the roadside. Six other soldiers were killed on the spot.

Soon after the incident, the injured soldier was rushed to the Palali military hospital and later airlifted to Colombo due to his critical condition. He succumbed to his injuries this morning.
