Coalition forces' vehicle damaged in Paktia mine blast (AFGHANISTAN)


GARDEZ, Feb 9 (Pajhwok Afghan News): A coalition forces' vehicle was partially damaged when it hit a roadside landmine in the Wozai Zadran district of the southeastern Paktia province, officials said on Thursday

Provincial security chief Ghulam Nabi Salem told Pajhwok Afghan News the blast took place on Wednesday while the coalition forces were passing through the Mirajan Dukanoono area of the district.

He said it was an old mine that partially damaged the vehicle but no soldier was killed or injured in the explosion.

Confirming the incident, coalition spokesman Mike Cody told Pajhwok Afghan News the blast happened around 9:30am on Wednesday. He said the soldiers were on routine patrol in that district. No one was hurt, he added.
