HRH Prince Mir'ed Participates in Demining Meeting (Jordan)

Amman, May 2(Petra)-His Royal Highness Mir'ed Ben Rae'd President of National Demining & Rehabilitation Commission participated in the meetings of the standing committees of the anti-personnel mine ban convention held in Geneva recently.

HRH informed the gathering on Jordan's achievement in the field of demining in addition to the procedures taken to
Eliminating all mines in Jordan by the year 2009 in implementation of the Ottawa Convention.

On the sidelines of the meeting, the Prince met with Ambassadors of the donor countries and representatives of International governmental and non-governmental organizations and discussed with them means of increasing people's awareness towards the mines issue and helping their victims.

Jordan is one of the first Arab countries in the region which signed the Ottawa Convention.
