Landmines recovered at Adigoppula village (INDIA)

The Guntur district police on Tuesday recovered four landmines from Adigoppula village that were planted by the Communist Party of India (Maoist) naxalites during the May 11 attack on the Durgi police station.

The police recovered the landmines following information given by some of the surrendered naxalites. These landmines were planted by the Maoists to attack the police parties that would have retreated after the naxalite attack on the Durgi police station with rocket launchers.

The police had intelligently escaped these landmines by not falling into their trap.

The Macherla Circle Inspector of Police, G. Srinivasa Rao, and other police officials with the help of experts removed the mines.
