Mine blast kills 2 Sri Lanka soldiers, 1 policeman(SRI LANKA)

An anti-personnel mine exploded in a northern Sri Lanka town Wednesday, killing two government soldiers and a policeman, the area's police chief said.

The blast took place near Vavuniya, the last government-held garrison town ahead of the territory controlled by the separatist Tamil Tiger rebels.
The area's police chief, Gamini Silva, said police were investigating the blast.
Anti-personnel mines are often used by the separatist Tigers, reports the AP.
