Mine blast leaves militant dead


KANDAHAR CITY, Mar 29 (Pajhwok Afghan News): A militant was blown up while planting a landmine in the Siori district of the southern Zabul province Tuesday night. Provincial police chief Mohammad Nabi Mulakhel told Pajhwok Afghan News on Wednesday the slain was member of Taliban and was killed while planning to carry out a terrorist attack by planting the explosive device.

Mulakhel said his charred body was still laying on the site of the explosion. He added police had been fanned out in the surrounding areas to arrest other colleagues of the dead man.
He said in a separate incident of violence, a policeman was injured when some miscreants attacked a post near Qalat last night. He said the attackers fled after retaliatory firing from the police.
