Mine explosion kills cattle on TAJIK-UZBEK border
Dushanbe, 31 August: An anti-personnel mine went off on the Tajik-Uzbek border last Sunday, 27 August, killing over 70 head of livestock belonging to local residents. No human casualties have been reported.
Asia-Plus learnt at the Tajik Mine Action Centre that the explosion occurred on a minefield in the Langar mountains situated on the territory of the Urmetan community farm in Sughd Region's Ayni District [in northwestern Tajikistan].
