Soldier Commits Suicide, Boy Injured in Blast in Kashmir (India)
Srinagar, Feb 28: An Indian border guard committed suicide in Kashmir by shooting himself from his own service AK-47 rifle while a 14 year old boy was injured in a landmine explosion.
Police sources said that an Indian border guard committed suicide inside his camp in the Jammu region of Kashmir. He received critical bullet injuries and died on the spot.
Police have registered a case and launched investigations.
Meanwhile, police said that a 14 year old boy was injured in a land mine blast near the Line of Control (LoC) in the mountainous Poonch region.
Police said that that Younis, a 14-year-old boy, was walking near his village Bagyal Dhara near the LoC in Poonch district Friday evening when he stepped over a mine. The boy was injured during the blast that followed, the sources added.
Police said that the injured boy was immediately taken to the hospital where his condition is stated to be stable.
