Sweden Establishes Priority in Co-operation (Sweden - Angola)
Public works, mines and transports are the priority areas where the Swedish government intends to co-operate with Angola, announced Tuesday, here, the Swedish ambassador accredited in the country, Anderson Hegelberg.
The diplomat made this statement after an audience with the Angolan Foreign Affairs minister, João Bernado Miranda.
He admitted that the war interrupted the strengthening of co-operation between the two countries, having stressed that the peace conquered three years ago is encouraging the two countries to elaborate projects and mechanisms to revive mutual co-operation.
For the ambassador, the recent visits to Sweden made by the Angolan ministers of Telecommunications and Energy, Tavares Ribeiro and Botelho de Vasconcelos, respectively, represents the proof that there is interest in strengthening these ties.
Between 1975 and 2002, Sweden contributed with about 850 thousand dollars to the co-operation programme, stressed the diplomat.
