Two French soldiers injured near Kabul (AFGHANISTAN)


A press release issued here said the soldiers, who were part of the ISAF's Kabul Multinational Brigade, were patrolling in the French area of operation in the Shamali plain when their armoured vehicle hit a roadside landmine.

Two French soldiers were wounded as their vehicle hit and improvised explosive device in the Shamali plains, northwest of the capital Kabul Wednesday noon.

A press release issued here said the soldiers, who were part of the ISAF's Kabul Multinational Brigade, were patrolling in the French area of operation in the Shamali plain when their armoured vehicle hit a roadside landmine.

The injured soldiers were treated by the French military doctor, said the release, adding one was evacuated by helicopter to the ISAF medical centre while the other was slightly wounded and transported by ambulance.

Condition of both the soldiers is satisfactory. The release further said ISAF was investigating causes of the incident in collaboration with the Afghan police.
