Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) on Thursday said separatist organisations have planted Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and landmines on Bangladesh-Myanmar borderlines.
Additional director general of the BGB headquarters, brigadier general Md Anisur Rahman, came up with remarks at a press conference on Thursday after a meeting between Bangladesh and Myanmar from 1 April to 6 April.|He said people are being injured in the area regularly due to the explosions of the landmines and the explosives.
|But Anisur Rahman did not unveil names of any separatist group for the incidents.
He said, "Bangladesh and Myanmar have come up with a consensus to remove the explosives and mines planted on the no man's land along borders of the two countries. If presence of any separatist group has been found, the nations agreed to conduct a joint drive."
